2025 JOHN CHRISTMAS LIGHT TOUR
Vernon, BC

A special thanks to the 2025 sponsors for their generous donations to NONA
Welcome to the 2025 John Christmas Light Tour!
Thank you for joining us for another magical year of holiday lights, community spirit, and neighbourhood cheer across Vernon! What started as my simple love for Christmas lights has grown into a tradition that brings families together, supports local homeowners who go all-out with their displays, and helps raise money for an organization close to my heart.
As many of you know, I’m John Christmas (yes, that really is my name) and yes, I’m also a local realtor. But,
I don’t make any money from this tour. This project isn’t linked to my real estate business in any financial way. It’s just my way of giving back to the community I love, celebrating the holiday season, and shining a little light (literally!) on Vernon and the surrounding communities of Coldstream and Armstrong.
How the Sponsorship Works
Each home on the tour is “sponsored,” but not in the traditional sense. The homeowners don’t pay anything, and I don’t earn anything. Instead, every sponsor’s contribution goes directly to the North Okanagan Neurological Association (NONA) ; an incredible local organization that supports children and families with developmental challenges. Their work changes lives, and the tour is proud to help put a little more warmth and support back into the community through them. Over the past 5 years the John Christmas Light tour has helped raise nearly $200,000 for NONA, including a record $51,000 last year. The homeowners donate their time, creativity, and hydro bills; sponsors donate funding that goes straight to NONA; and I organize the list and tour simply because it brings joy and supports our community.
So bundle up, grab a warm drink, load up the family, and enjoy the brightest route in town. Whether this is your first time or you’ve been following the tour for years, I promise there’s plenty of sparkle to make your season merry and bright.
Thank you for helping keep this tradition alive, for supporting NONA, and for keeping Vernon glowing.
Merry Christmas and I hope you enjoy this year’s selections!
1. 1800 58 Avenue
Welcome to Parkwood Regency Retirement Resort! Feel free to drive up the road and use the drive through at the front entrance. Forty four residents have come together to decorate their balconies, and it looks fantastic. Before real estate, I worked in the medical field, so seeing this community spirit is really special to me.
2. 6653 Blackcomb Way
A balcony bursting with holiday cheer, and it just so happens to be the last home before the rumoured Grinch who lives close by.
3. 364 Marmot Court
The rumours tell me this is where the Grinch lives.
"Santa, don’t forget the Grinch. I know he’s mean and hairy and smelly, and his hands are cold and clammy, but I think he’s kinda… sweet.” -Cindy Lou Who
